- application of technology to any of those processes involved in operating the institutions which house the educational enterprise

- include the application of technology to food, health, finance, scheduling, grade, reporting, and other processes which support education within institutions.

Instructional Technology

- applying scientific knowledge about human learning to the practical tasks of teaching and learning

- a bridge between those who conduct research on human learning and those who are teaching and learning

-translates and applies basic researches on human learning to produce instructional design principles and processes as well as instructional media that students and teachers can use to increase learning

-a part of educational technology

Technology Integration

- using learning technologies to introduce, reinforce, supplement, and extend skills

- a part of educational technology, and a part and parcel of instructional technology

- channels or avenues or instruments of communication

- examples: books, magazines, newspapers, radio. TV, internet
