1. General demandsSpecification covers weldable steel rebars and wire rod for concrete armouring, produced in
accordance with following standards:
- B500B Acc. to SRPS EN 10080, grade B500A (rib like B500B),
- B500B Acc. to BS 4449-2005,
- B500B Acc. to DIN 488-2009,
- PC 52 Acc. to STAS 438/1-89; OB37 Acc. to STAS 438/1-89,
- B60.50 Acc. to MSZ 339-1987.
It can be according to other standards if the customer wishes so, and the technical possibilities of
Metalfer Steel Mill allow it.
When negotiating, the rebars must be defined in single-value, like the following example shows:
Example of the mark: "Rebar 14x12 000 SRPS EN 10080 Grade B500B".
1.1. Construction and technical accordance95% of the produced rebars must be in accordance with this specification. Production is performed
according to technical documentation developed and approved by Metalfer Steel Mill. For data that are
not mentioned in this specification (like dimensions, tolerance and marks), rebar production standard
gives the data.
1.2. Production range1.2.1. Nominal standard diameters of the rebar can be: 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 25, 28 and 32.
Other diameters can be produced if the customer requires.
1.2.2. Standard length is 12m, but shorter rebars can be delivered if the customer requires.
1.3. Terms and definitions
Terms and definitions, such as: chemical composition, sampling, retesting, performance, dimensions,
weight per meter, tolerance, surface geometry, accordance determination, methods of examination and
identification, are in accordance with B500B Acc. to SRPS EN 10080; B500B Acc. to BS 4449:2005;
B500B Acc. to DIN 488-1:2009; B60.50 Acc. to MSZ 339:1987; PC 52 Acc. to STAS 438/1-89; OB
37 Acc. to STAS 438/1-89.

Ceq = C + Mn/6 + (Cr+Mo+V)/5 + (Cu+Ni)/15
Notes:
1) It is allowed to cross over maximal value of C for 0,03% if the value of Ceq is decreased in 0,02 per weight (this refers only for standard SRPS EN
10080:2008, BS 4449:2005)
2) Higher content of nitrogen is allowed if sufficient amounts of nitrogen-bending elements are present.
5. Concrete steel is produced in a shape of rebar according to: TP 1-1(Heating the billets inside the furnace), TP 1-2 (Plans of billet input), TP 1-3
(Monitoring during rolling), TP 1-4 (Cooling the billets with water using Tempcore technology), TP 1-5 (Cutting, controling and packing). Steel OB 37 is produced
without water cooling.
6. Packing into bundles and marking the bundle
Rebars are tied in steel band into the bundles of 4t or 2,5 t (+/-5%). In these cases, the steel band is used. It’s diameters are 0,8 x 31,75 mm and the tension strength is σm=1000 N/mm2. Each bundle is tied in 5 places in distance od 2,5m and 1m from it’s end. Soft anneal string is used for lifting the bundle. Diameter of the string is 4 – 6mm, has 4 connections and the tension strength is σm=360 N/mm2.
Also, every bundle has a tagged waterproof label with the data shown in the table. Label is fill in by a printer.
