Spending much of her free time on WGSN and social media, she is always

up to date on the latest trends and posts from designers, retailers, and bloggers. Tavé has a strong work

ethic, loves a fast and busy lifestyle and has a passion for not only the

visual merchandising and styling side but also the business side of the

industry.

Executed monthly floor sets and kept store merchandised with corporate directives.

Worked with management on multiple seasonal floor sets.

Weekly visual displays for juniors collections including GB, Freeway, California Love, Takara, IN, Soul Mates, ING, and XOXO.

Hosted and promoted events for spring and summer collection launches.

Created Pinterest and Instagram accounts to showcase events, promotions, and new merchandise.

Girls Night Out Fashion Show

Worked with 14 models for the Battlefield Mall “Girls Night Out” fashion show including styling, dress rehearsal, and setting up hair/make-up appointments .

Visual Merchandising Application of principles of visual merchandising through hands-on experience with visual placement, display focal points and background lighting. Worked individually and with groups throughout the semester to create supply lists, budgets and display plans, and window displays.

Introduction to Product Development

Examination of product development through core concepts, trends, color, and design elements. Created a mini-product line and visual dictionary with 170 garments.

Applications of Product Quality The development of multiple collections for a new company from consumer to retail buyer or consumer. Research includes target market, seasonal changes, color, fabric selection, costing, specification sheets, labeling, packaging, and line/trend boards. Worked with a group of 6 students throughout the semester to develop a children's clothing line for 4 seasons. Worked individually to create a catalog spread.

Introduction to Fashion Construction

Basic understanding of industry techniques, terminology, and applications of knit and woven fabrics. Work with patterns to create 3 garments including a skirt, button down shirt, and boxer shorts.

History of Fashion

The study of fashion evolution from B.C. to current fashion and how the influence of social, economic, political, technological and global cultures impact garments and accessories.

Fashion Textiles

The study of fibers, yarns and fabrics. Understand the industry applications and end usage.

Merchandising Math Basic retail and buying formulas are examined for the purpose of understanding six month merchandising plans and open-to-buy calculations. Case studies include vender relations and negotiation strategies.

Fashion Merchandise Planning

Advanced merchandising mathematics. Apply six month merchandising plan and OTB formulas through simulated buying experience including store planning, merchandising and marketing.

Product Quality

The analysis of Product Development quality through element identification, stitch and seam classification, grading, fit, specifications and performance evaluation.

Advertising Worked with an advertising team to assemble a creative brief and marketing campaign for the Adrian, MO Chamber of Commerce. The ad on the left was B2C and the ad on the right was B2B. Also worked with an ad team to create a plans book for Ozarks Counseling Center In Springfield, MO.

Advanced Computer Imagery Learned how to use current industry software such as Photoshop and Illustrator. Designed a collection for Spring/Summer 2016. Created a catalog spread with 4 of the pieces from the collection.

Applied basic computer aided design skills to create a fashion design portfolio including digital flats, pattern repeats and presentation boards. Learned how to create Tech Packs used in the apparel industry.

Fashion Show Production

Production of a runway fashion show from a zero line budget; showcasing 120 original study designs and hands-on experience in fundraising, model and garment selection, staging and public relations.

Staging Committee: Production of fashion show video, senior dedications, securing senior collections, securing DJ for the show, communications with the Expo Center and Down Home Production, lighting, staging, backdrops, music and senior music line-up, oversee the setup of facility, run the show backstage, and strike the show.

Entrepreneurship Developed a fashion business plan from concept to store opening including: target market, location, merchandising classification, human resources, cash flow sheets, profit and loss, store design, assortment planning, marketing strategies and funding. Completed business plan was critiqued by a financial industry professional (Scott Tennyson, President of Arvest Bank).

SXSW Style Sessions Attended South By Southwest style sessions in Austin, TX where menswear designer John Varvatos talked style, music and entrepreneurship. Other speakers included designer Billy Reid, bloggers Indiana Adams, Refinery 29, and The Man Repeller.
