BackgroundTAQA approached Subsea Integration Alliance for a solution that would provide production security for a late-life asset—the Otter Field— resulting in an installation of the longest subsea boosting tieback in the UK North Sea. The 18-mi [30-km] tieback uses a multiphase pump as an alternative to an electrical submersible pump (ESP) for enhanced production. Boosting technology will enable TAQA to finish production on the Eider platform on schedule and keep Otter Field in production.
