Tame impala isn’t really a band according to songwriter Kevin Parker: the band only exists when its time to go on tour. And with the release of
lonerism its time to call up the other guys and go on tour.
The tour in December will see the band return to Meredith’s
Supernatural Amphitheatre in Victoria for the first time since their rain
soaked debut in 2008 and play a run of headline shows around the country

Kevin Parker the one-man band behind the recording of Tame impala has released his second full length album since the critically acclaimed
debut ‘Innerspeaker’ Parker has been working on since shortly after the
release of the debut album.
Recorded over two years in either a Paris apartment, Parkers native Perth, or studios, planes, hotels and homes around the world, lonerism sounds like its creation, couldn’t be nailed
down to one place, time, headspace or chemical.

NEW NUGGETS
2012 marks 40 years since the release of the original Nuggets: Original artefacts from the first psychedelic Era, 1965-1968 double LP on Elektra, and now Warner Music are
marking this milestone with a new issue of the compilation. Warner in Australia going the extra mile by dropping two decidedly Australian compilations- previously titled
Down Under Nuggets and Antipodean Interpolations of the first psychedelic era.
Much of the inspiration for Down Under
Nuggets comes from the Australian Ugly Things compilations that Raven Records
first issued in 1980 and are now out of print. When looking at the nitty gritty of whom
appears on the disc, a lot of familiar name and classic tunes are brought up
A lot of the real legendary stuff like The
Atlantics, The Missing Links,The Masters Apprentices, The Moods, The Purple
Hearts, The Elois, The Black Diamonds, The Creatures, The Loved Ones, The Throb, The
Lost Souls and the Easybeats
A traditional tribute album didn’t sit right with him when talking
about Nuggets, so he floated the idea of unearthing quality bands relatively
unknown to the mainstream population instead; a project not unlike Nuggets itself.
Wilson, who is best known as the bass player of defunct Aussie rockers Jet,
has managed to secure a very credible and exciting list of bands for the
project.
“Montero, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, The Murlocs, The Living
Eyes, Frowning Clouds, Palms, Step-Panther, Bloods, Straight Arrows, Tiny Migrants, Baptism Of Uzi, Eagle & The
Worm, Pearls, The Gooch Palms, Velociraptor and Pond,” with two
more very exciting names who have expressed interest but not yet delivered a song. Until then check out the Murlocs new Tee Pee EP to get a taste of some
raw aussie boogie. Facebook.com/themurlocs
