Uploading the extension

1. Log into the Magento server (or switch to) as a user, who has permissions to write to the Magento file system.

2. Download the "Ready to paste" package from your customer's area, unzip it and upload the 'app' folder to your Magento install dir.

Enable the module

1. Log into the Magento server (or switch to) as a user, who has permissions to write to the Magento file system.

2. Go to your Magento install dir:cd <your Magento install dir>

3. Update the database:

php bin/magento setup:upgrade

4. Enable the extension:

php bin/magento module:enable Aitoc_PreOrder

That is it.

Now you can start using the extension.

2. Accessing the Extension Main Settings

Enable or disable a special status for orders that contain both regular and pre-ordered products.

Allow or Disallow the availability of the out-of-stock products for pre-order.

Enable or disable the ability to mix ore-orders and regular products in cart.

To access Pre-Order / Backorder settings, go to

Stores - Configuration - Aitoc - Pre-Orders

Enable or disable alerts about the availability of pre-ordered products in stock.

Choose an email template to use as an alert.

Specify an email sender.

Enable or disable notifications via email about new orders that contain pre-ordered items.

Specify an email template to use for new order notifications.

Enable or disable new invoice notifications for orders with pre-ordered items.

Specify an email template for new invoice notifications.

3. Pre-Order Configuration

To access the Pre-Order configuration, go to

Products - Catalog - Product - Advanced Inventory

Set the Backorders option to Pre-Orders to enable pre-orders functionality for a certain product in your store.

Fill in a custom message to inform your customers about the potential availability of a product.

Allow or disallow the out-of-stock products for pre-order.

4. Pre-Order / Backorder on the Front-End

Customers can pre-order items using the Pre-Order button on a product page.
