System-Wide Art Acquisition Committee FY12 Report

Committee Role & Scope

• UH System public art program approved by

the Board of Regents in 1966.

• Texas law in 1969 enabled allocation of 1%

construction cost set-aside for the campus

public art (new construction projects only)

• SWAAC is charged by the Board with the sole

purpose for selecting and acquiring public art

for the System campuses.

•Appointments made by the Board.
