CogwheelsThe Essence of MBA (Tech.)
"The cog wheel illustrates an ideal state of synchrony. The objective is to reflect
the significance of both technical and management knowledge operating in
perfect coherence which is an indispensable parameter as per the requirement
of the industry.
In today's changing paradigm of the industry, students are expected to have
multiple core competencies. An exemplary analogy has been devised to illustrate
the essence of this conception wherein the cogs of the two wheel flawlessly fit
into one another.
Similarly at MPSTME, we have always recognized that an all-round and holistic
development is vital to enrich students from both management and technology
perspective. This seemingly apparent blend of these two domains offers more
value proposition as opposed to them being applicable in isolation.
The MBA-Tech curriculum is meticulously designed to offer an impeccable blend
of technical and management knowledge. The seamless interlocking of the cogs
aligns with our course structure which acts as a backbone to sustain the
synchrony between the two domains.
The faculty team at MPSTME, are extremely crucial for nurturing and imparting
the amalgamation of these two domains. Their diverse experience and
knowledge acts as a lubricant for smooth functioning of the cogs which
essentially depicts the driving force which makes the students at MPSTME
perpetually strive for excellence."
VisionNMIMS will define the 21st Century Technological, Management and Organisational Research, and
educate with a view to impact global developments and cadre of employable individuals.
MissionNMIMS's mission is to provide to the nation, good quality trained human resources who are socially sensitive,
have inquisitive minds and the persistence to change their own and the organisation's lives, and contribute to
making India a knowledge superior power and the world a better place to live. This we seek to achieve
through educational excellence, innovative and relevant research, promoting social equality and an outreach
program to ensure global access of our learning resources to all students and faculty.
BeliefWe believe that learning is more fruitful, when knowledge & expertise of individuals from various disciplines
& diverse backgrounds are shared. As this provides cutting edge to professional education, we encourage
such diversity, which is reflected in the composition of the student body of the university. We also believe that
innovation is the key to progress in the modern world, so in pursuit of excellence, we constantly upgrade &
add newer areas of education & research to make our programs more relevant to the stakeholders. Most
importantly, we believe that openness, participation & fairness are necessary for building a culture conducive
to learning & growth.

The Mentor SpeaksThis year, the unique MBA (Tech) course completes its twelfth year. The course has constantly evolved over the
past years in an attempt to achieve consonance with the constantly changing industry requirements and
expectations. It gives me immense gratification to say that our alumni are making valuable contributions to their
respective organisations, and are raising the bar for excellence across the industry.
MBA (Tech) blends international pedagogy practices with the contemporary industry practices and requirements.
Academicians, scholars and industry leaders have contributed to the design of this program keeping in mind the
requirement of providing a broad learning spectrum across technical and managerial domains. The provision of
exposure to the corporate world through seven months of intensive training through two industry internships
helps align academics with industry practices and broadens the vision of the students.
As these industry-ready students prepare to step into corporate world with the skills they have honed, I wish them
luck and success.
Dr. Jayant P. Gandhi
The Dean's DeskAt MPSTME, it has been always our endeavor to ensurethat students are exposed to relevant and updated
curricula which address the industry needs and expectations. This has been possible due to wide industry
participation on academic bodies of the school as well as the university. This along with the initiatives of the SVKM
and NMIMS like opportunities for experiential learning, soft skill training throughout the four years, aptitude
training, encouragement to participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, well planned internships,
results in well-rounded students ready to take on industry challenges from day one. I am sure that with this
background, exposure and learning experience, graduates from the school will surpass expectations and
contribute to the growth and development of the organisations in particular and the country in general. I invite
the corporate world to share our efforts in nurturing and developing tomorrow's leadership.

MBA (Tech.) as a course had several
advantages which helped shape my
career. The fact that the engineering
subjects were relatively fresher by the
time the MBA subjects were finished
helped a lot versus other B.Tech+ MBA.
Moreover, it saves a year, which was
extremely helpful as that year can be
utilized best to build work experience.
The internships built into the course help
a lot in getting perspectives from different
industries and roles. The course design
was well suited to industry needs and
hence helped me get into a role in
financial services that I always wanted to.

MPSTME provides young students an
opportunity to undergo hol ist ic
development. A student excels not only in
academics but also at the social and
personal front. MBA (Tech) course, an
innovation of NMIMS MPSTME, prepares
students for the demands of a successful
professional career be it working in the
private sector, public sector, family
business or becoming an entrepreneur.

As an engineering student, I endeavored
to do justice to my technology education
and my efforts were driven by the thought
of making good the 3.5 years of time
spent studying technology. However,
being professionally interested in the
financial markets and corporate finance, I
undertook core financial subjects as my
electives post my internship. At MPSTME,
I had the privilege of studying under
commendable teachers who helped me
ex p a n d my k n o w l e d g e h o r i zo n
significantly.
The business valuation knowledge gained
during my stint at my first company
Aranca coupled with the NMIMS brand
name helped me land my current role of
an analyst in the energy investment
banking team at Goldman.

The most enriching experiences I have
witnessed as a student at MPSTME have
been the plethora of opportunities
available and the freedom given to the
students to utilize them to the fullest. We
had represented the college at Harvard
World MUN in Singapore, Vancouver and
Melbourne, and won it twice. The
institution has given a lot to me to be
grateful for and I would love to be of any
help to ensure it continues to grow at a
herculean pace.

The journey from campus to corporate
has been amazing in MPSTME. The
college environment and culture fostered
overall development of the students.
MBA Tech curriculum was a great mix of
courses that provided the right blend of
technical and managerial skills and
knowledge which is highly appreciated in
the corporate world. Internship
opportunities of duration longer than
most colleges provided hands on
experience that made it easier for me in
my current job. The program was an
unforgettable experience that prepared
me further for the next step of my career
and life in general. Also, the endeavor of
the Placement has been commendable.
They have put in their best efforts, and
have succeeded in getting students
placed in the best corporates.

Being a part of the MBA (Tech.)
programme, the kind of exposure a
student gets to the technical as well as the
managerial aspects of corporate life is
immense. The college curriculum is so
well-designed that it enables you to
develop a balanced approach as the co-
curricular activities are well integrated
into the schedule. MPSTME's unique
course and the 5-month internship is the
key to taking the first step right to a
successful career. I am sure this would be
a founding stone in every path of life.

MBA (Tech.) Program has given me the
ability to grasp the Management side of all
Technical choices made in an organization.
This is one of the most unique proposition
which are not offered by other courses. In
my tenure with HP, I'm able to understand
both Technical complexities of hardware as
well as its Management implication.
Additionally the course structure allowed
me to have substantial level of Industry
exposure, which has assisted me in making
educated choice regarding the type of
Organization I would like to pursue as per
my Career preferences.
