you can do this right away at no cost
1 You can sign-up to the Android Management Experience and start
evaluating both Work Profile and Work Managed Device without
needing to make any changes to your existing environment or even
setting up an EMM
2 If you are ready to start piloting Android in your enterprise you can
register now for the Android Test Drive Program
If your request meets the program eligibility criteria then we can
issue you Android enterprise ready devices to jump start your pilot
and get your users zooming along with best-in-class enterprise
mobility features Availability for this program is strictly limited so
get your request in super fast before the chequered flag is waved
Android security
Android is secure Despite there being over two billion devices across the world
Android has an impressive statistics with only 005 percent of devices be
affected by a Potentially Harmful App (PHA) from Google Play in 2016
Infection rates however are 10-times higher if you enable Unknown Sources
and install applications directly from the internet Googlersquos best practice
recommendation is to only install applications from trusted sources such
as Google Play
Google uses a wide range of mechanisms to keep you safe from malware
including on-device tools such as Google Play Protect Verify Apps amp Safety Net
along with server-based tools such as Dynamic Analysis and Machine Learning

Going Google The Chrome Story
Googlersquos journey with Chrome devices has been a resounding success story in Education for a while both in US and outside but in the past couple of years Chromebooks have also been given an Enterprise make-over The simplicity of a browser centric device with now access to Android apps as well and enterprise ready with VPN Certs and SSO all centrally managed from the cloud Chrome devices give IT managers greater peace of mind with a highly productive computer
There was a good appreciation in the room of the lsquohamster wheelrsquo operational overhead of continuously managing traditional platforms With the increasing uptake of web and cloud based applications the browser has become the most prominent business critical application in many businesses Catering for these and many rich HTML5 apps like Citrix for VDI Chrome devices a perfect choice for many

Going Google The G Suite and Google Cloud Platform Story
Sara Djelassi and Steve Mansfield ran an interactive workshop on G Suite and GCP
The underlying paradigm was to have a presentation aimed at showing how our software technology stack can help businesses tackle the challenges of the future
Business Stream
Links to documentation
The workshop was in three parts
1 G Suite2 A demo linking G Suite and GCP3 GCP
The G Suite discussion was all about how to work anywhere effectively collaborate in real time enable teams to work together to improve results quickly create connections between data and people foster the creation of ideas all so that we can be better faster and more responsive The demo was showing how organisations can liberate data by using the integration between GCP and G Suite We used the fun example of crowd-sourcing some music artists and seeing how popular they are against Internet playlists To do this we used G Suite Forms to crowd source the choices Sheets to de-dupe responses GCP Big Query to query against the playlists data and Sheets again to present the results And all in just a few minutes For GCP we presented a real world customer Spotify to show how a focus on your core strength and the customer through the liberation of your data enables you to make better and faster decisions
In many organisations not all workers have access to an enterprise enrolled mobile device and even those that do often cannot access all of the same enterprise applications that they can from a PC Reasons for this include
Budget prohibits issuing a corporate owned mobile device to every employee
BYOD does not always fill the gap because employees are concerned about
privacy user experience such IT policies that force complex passwords and
the impact to work life balance
Android is often not approved as a platform due to perceptions about security
and enterprise readiness

Going Google The Mobility Story
In this workshop Gerard Kennedy provided an overview of how to review and audit your business environment to identify use cases for deploying mobility discover pain points and begin to assess the impact those pain points are having on business productivity
