Knock-on• Happens when ball goes

forward• Throwing, or hitting it

forward = knock-on• Okay to kick it forward

Offside• When you are in front of

the ball, and make a play• Get back to your side of ball• Put hands in the air,

signaling your awareness of offside

The Tackle• Get as low as you

can• Wrap your arms

around the player• Pull opponent to

ground

Caution: No High Tackles!!!

The Ruck• Object: win the ball• Rake back with foot• Bind on with

teammate, push against other team

The Scrum• Each team’s pack

comes together to fight for possession

• Scrumhalf rolls ball in middle

• Can be a result of offside call or knock-on

Line Outs! When the ball goes out of bounds, it is thrown in from the sideline. A player from each team is lifted, fighting for the ball.

Important to:

• Lift by shorts• Ball thrown

right in between those lifted

• Reach!!!

You MUST place

the ball on

ground with

control to

score!!

When you

score, it’s

called a try!!

TRY!!!
