Diversity & Youth Philanthropy:Three Case Studies

Diversity is certainly a hot topic in the field ofphilanthropy. Many foundations and youth councilsare ramping up efforts to include students whopreviously may not have participated due toconcerns such as distance, transportation, or lack ofawareness. During YPII's July webinar, Discovering & EngagingDiverse Philanthropic Youth, Brea Reimer-Baum ofYouth Philanthropy Connect, presented three casestudies of programs working intentionally to bringdiverse youth to the table:

North Carolina- Youth GivingMinnesota- Shock & AweCalifornia- Youth Funding Youth Ideas

These groups have found ways to overcomebarriers and increase participation of diverse youthin their programs, often through simple and creativemeasures. For more information and resources on the topic ofdiversity in youth philanthropy, check out the fullwebinar recording and download the presentationslides.
