Welcome to the online version of Student Orientation, Advising, & Registration (SOAR). The first four sections of the program (Welcome & The Big Picture, College Academics 101, Taking Care of Business, and Pre-Advising) will present information that will be helpful to you throughout your academic career at IPFW. These sections will also help prepare you to meet with your advisor for the final two sections of SOAR (Advising and Registration).
Use the to navigate through the sections.

You will be able to access the various sections of SOAR in sequence. Student guides will accompany you throughout the first four sections. There will be brief reviews at the end of each section to help affirm your understanding of the information offered. Your academic advisor will assist you with the final two sections of SOAR.

You can pause or leave SOAR at your convenience and return at any time. However, remember you will not be able to participate in advising or registration without having completed SOAR.

Words of WelcomeUniversities use various titles for their chief executive officers. At IPFW, we use the title of chancellor. Chancellor Mike Wartell offers his words of welcome in this part of SOAR, addresses his thoughts on how to make the most of a college education, and why you made a great choice in choosing IPFW. The Indiana Purdue Student Government Association (IPSGA) is IPFW’s student voice. IPSGA President Amanda McCann also offers her welcome in this part, briefly describes the role of IPSGA on campus, and student pride at IPFW.<chancellor video><IPSGA video>
