FINANCIAL AID MODULE

The Financial Aid Module requires an installation zip file

Call your tech for details

Congratulations! One of your students has been awarded financial aid. Begin by awarding the aid to the student.

Student RecordAdditional Info tab

Tip 1: Clicking the plus sign allows you to customize the list

Tip 2: Always specify a type. It will make reporting and draws easier

Enter the type of award

The award date is the date the financial aid was approved – not necessarily the date the award arrived

Then fill in the award date

Used for your Financial Reporting

EFC = Expected Family Contribution

Payment type: The payment type assigned to the payment when the award is applied to the student’s class.

(This may be a good use for one of the six user defined payment types)

Total Expected is the amount you anticipate the student will receive from the awarding agency

Total Expected:

Draw

Tip: There may be multiple draws on an award

Tip 2: The Draw Field displays the total of all recorded draws once they have been applied to a course (received)

You will break the award into amounts (draws) that can be applied as payments to the student’s account

Example

Returned

The amount of the award never given to the student. This amount is returned to the awarding agency. (Unused portion of the Award)

This is typically not recorded until after all draws or transfers have been done.. At the end of the process..
