South Panola: Making a difference with Purpose,

Passion, and Pride!

Student Responsibilities

• Participate fully in the learning process. Students must be at school and class on time with needed supplies. Students must pay attention to instruction, complete assignments to the best of their abilities, and ask for help when needed. (Page 4)

• Avoid behaviors that impair the educational achievement of themselves or others. Students must follow school rules, maintain school property, and cooperate with others. (Page 4)

• Show respect for the knowledge and authority of teachers, administration, and other school employees.Students must obey reasonable directions, use acceptable and courteous language and behavior, and follow school(and class) rules and procedures. (Page 4)

• Recognize and respect the rights of other students. All students should show concern for and encourage the educational achievement of others. (Page 4)

Attendance• You MUST come to school

everyday! If you miss you must have a valid excuse from a Doctor or a parent.

• If you arrive before 7:25 you must wait where directed( the benches outside the office or the library). DO NOT come to class! (Page 5)

• If you arrive after 7:50 you MUST sign in at the office. (Page 5)

Cafeteria Policies• It is expected that students will

utilize good manners.• Students will NOT be allowed to

share food for health reasons.• All foods and drinks bought in the

cafeteria must be consumed before leaving the cafeteria. No taking food with you! (Page 9)

Students MUST behave!

• Students are expected to obey the rules of the classroom as set forth by the teacher.

• Students are expected to be respectful of adults and to those who are in authority. (Page 10)

• Students are expected to assume an individual responsibility for their behavior, conduct, and classroom performance.

• Students are NOT permitted to fight or engage in scuffles or horseplay while on campus.

• Students are expected to refrain from making loud and excessive noise whenever on campus.

• Students (for safety reasons) are expected to WALK at all times while moving throughout the buildings.

Violations: Level 1• Talking without permission• Out of seat without permission• Not following directions of teacher• Running and playing in the

building• Breaking established classroom

Consequences: Level 1• Student/ Teacher conference• Classroom discipline• Corporal punishment• In-School suspension(ISS)• Conditional suspension

Violations: Level 2• Electronic equipment• Abusing the rights of others• Open defiance and extreme

disrespectfulness• Inappropriate dress• Cheating

Consequences : Level 2• Administrator/ student conference• ISS• Corporal punishment• Out-of-school suspension• Repetitive violations will result in

recommendation for expulsion

Violations: Level 3• Weapons- expelled• Fighting or provoking a fight-

suspended/ expelled• Stealing- suspended/ expelled• Alcoholic beverages- expelled • Unlawful drugs- expelled( Page 12-

14)

• Tobacco- suspended/ expelled• Vulgarity, profanity, and obscenity-

suspended/ expelled• Willful defacing or destruction of

property- suspended/ expelled• Breaking and entering school

property- expelled

• Disruption of the normal operation of the school- suspended/ expelled

• Gambling- suspended/ expelled• School attendance• Class absence without permission-

suspended

• Student dress- suspended up to two days

Things to Leave at Home

• Knives or any other weapons• Tobacco products• Dolls and other toys• Pets or any live animals• Large amounts of money• Sports equipment (Page 15)

• Any electronic device( IPod, IPhone, cellphone, DS, PSP, etc.)

• Candy and gum• Excessive amounts of jewelry

Dress Code• Gender specific clothing• Undergarments must be covered

at ALL times• Appropriately groomed hair• Garments with appropriate and

acceptable graphics (Page 15 &16)

• Tops should have sleeves and cover the midriff

• Clothing should be appropriately sized and worn appropriately

• Shorts and Skirts of an appropriate length

• Appropriate shoes must be worn (NO Heelies)

• Garments must be secured at waist( Boys, shirts MUST be tucked in at ALL times!)

• No hats!

Bullying• There is to be absolutely NO

bullying at ANY time. Any case of bullying will be dealt with accordingly with appropriate disciplinary actions. (Pages 20-22)
