STRESS

• Definition: Stress is any demand made on the body. (Engineering Term)

Major Stressors:• Pollution• Weather• Work• Accident• World Events• Water• Noise• Family• Radiation• Sunlight• Food

Stages of Stress:• 1. The Alarm Stage: When

threat is perceived through the body senses

• 2. Resistance Stage: After the immediate threat disappears, the body relaxes and returns to normal

actual or perceived threat continues over a prolong time. This can end in disease

MANAGEMENT• Relaxation: Massage, self

hypnosis, Sabbath, day off, leave, retreat, time away, seven to eight hours sleep

• Nourish your body: Organic food, vitamins and essential nutrients

reduce work stress, learn to say no, setting boundaries, be an optimist, etc…

• Exercise: stretching, walking, jogging at least 30minutes 3 times a week
