Stop Loan Sharks CommunityFunding 2019-2020

The England Illegal Money LendingTeam (IMLT) has funding availablefor groups that want to raiseawareness of the issues of illegalmoney lending. The moneyavailable has come from theproceeds of crime taken fromconvicted illegal money lenders.

The aim of this funding is to givegroups the opportunity to raiseawareness of the issue, in theircommunity in a different way.

Local residents, charities,community and voluntary groups,schools and statutory agencies cansubmit an application for up to£5000. Projects must encompassfour aims which include -innovative, communityengagement, impact and legacy.

The deadline for submission ofapplications is 30th June 2019.Please send applications toCatherine.wohlers@birmingham.gov.uk

This weekend sees the launch of the Royal Enfield Showcase in theKingfisher Centre. The company have chosen Redditch, the birthplaceof Royal Enfield, for the European launch of their brand new, futuristic,2019 Bullet Trials bike. The European press will be attending over thecourse of the weekend to get a glimpse of the new bike and this eventreally could put Redditch, Worcestershire and the West Midlands onthe map.

Over the course of the following six weeks, the shop opposite ClintonCards will take the form of a pop-up museum, allowing visitors fromacross the UK (and the world) to experience Royal Enfield: Past, Presentand Future.

We would like to make this event and the six week showcase assuccessful as possible, so do help by sharing news articles, social mediaposts, pictures from the event and even how fantastic it is by word ofmouth. We are also looking to gather memories of Royal Enfield, pastand present whether ex-factory workers or motorcycle enthusiastsif you work with anyone who might be interested or have a story to tell,please pass tell them to get in touch.

Just a reminder that the Knowledge Bank, a directory of services for theRedditch and Bromsgrove areas is still available to use. The purpose ofthe directory is to list public, voluntary and community organisationsworking in these areas and to give a flavour of the types of services theyprovide.
