Position Overview
Agriculture Industry Development
Agriculture Victoria is seeking an intern with a passion for research, communication and governance. Agriculture Victoria works with farmers, industries, communities and other government agencies to grow and protect profitable, sustainable farms in thriving regional and rural communities.
The ideal intern will have a keen interest in researching trends internationally and nationally in energy, digital agriculture and a range of agricultural industries. The ideal intern will also possess excellent communication skills and an interest in governance in the public sector.
Our intern will be self-motivated, a team player and will contribute to Agriculture Victoria’s values of accountability, integrity and respect.
The successful intern will contribute to the delivery of key initiatives in the Agriculture Indsutry Development team within Agriculture Policy.
The intern will learn about and provide important research and evidence to underpin policies to support industry development in a diverse range of matters which may include the use of energy and renewable energy on-farms. Other projects may include exploring international work in digital agriculture and growth industries such as the hemp industry.
There will be opportunities for the intern to support important governance activities and gain an understanding of the requirements for good governance in the government sector. The intern will also be able to use their high-quality communication skills to support projects to better communicate with farming businesses and members of the community on energy-related matters and other topics which may include innovative food businesses.
Ideally, our intern would be able to work for us in a four-week block.

Ideal Degree/Discipline
Any degree welcome - well suited to backgrounds in politics/government, agriculture, arts, general science
Eligibility Requirements
Second last or final year of a relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree
Australian Citizens, Australian Permanent Residents and international students with full working rights.
Identify as having disability
Candidates may be required to undergo a background check security clearance
