1 results of the "Konjunkturstatistik im Produzierenden Bereich" (short-term statistics in manufacturing); this survey is based on a sample which includes at least 90 % of the production of the selected branches (ÖNACE-2-digit-level); therefore many, esp. small firms are not included; furthermore there are distortions arising from the transformation of ÖNACE categories into the "Kammersystematik" (classification of the Economic Chambers); subsequently the data for "Industry" are only very limited comparable with the data of the previous "Industriestatistik"
2 "Industry" according to the classification of the Economic Chambers; excluding construction industry; 2006: preliminarily

1 data for enterprises within the range of the Economic Chambers (main economic activity); compared to social securitystatistics (employer establishments) the WKO-employment statistics comprises also so-called "one-person-enterprises"(enterprises without employees); while the number of employees can be considered as nearly comprehensive, the numberof enterprises is underestimated by a certain degree (not exactly observable), although this underestimation should covermainly enterprises of little economic importance; members of the Economic Chambers, which have their main economicactivity outside the range of the Economic Chambers (for example: farmers with an additional licence), are not included
