The Russian Federation – the RF- is a democratic federal lawbound State with a republican form of government.

The RF consists of 83 federative subjects: 46 regions 21 republics 9 territories 4 autonomous areas 2 cities of federal importance 1autonomous region

The main state document of the RF is a constitution.It was passed on the 12th of December in 1993.The constitution foresees all rights and duties of the citizens of Russia.

The state power in the RF is exercised by:

1.the President of the RF, 2.the Federal Assembly (the Council of the Federation and the State Duma ), 3.the Government, 4.the courts of the RF.

is the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces makes appointments to all important state offices, including those of judges, officers in the armed forces, diplomats is elected for four years by citizens of the RF, on the basis of universal, equal, direct suffrage.
