Artistic Expression:

Artwork to express or communicate emotions,

ideas or feelings. Used for self expression or to decorate or beautify.

So why do we make art?

• Expression: To express personal thoughts or ideas.

• Entertainment. Movies, TV shows, Comic Books, Cartoons, Video Games.

• Political and Social Commentary; to voice an opinion on something, like a political cartoon.

• Therapy– Role playing to help overcome mental

illnesses or work out a problem.– Comedies: Laughter helps strengthen

the immune system.

• Artifact– A product that represents the ideas

and technology of a time and place.– These are things that connect us to

our past; (paintings, plays, poems, etc.)
