New Changes in NLEP Situation

• 1.A new chain (sahiya) has been establshed to help in smooth running of NLEP

• 2. More concentration on early new case detection by giving training to sahiya of PHC.

• 3. Training to M.O’ & PHC>> for correct diagnosis of new cases• 4.As leprosy is on the verge of elimination, switching over to

DPMR is being made.

Gaps/Needs Identified

• 1.Language problem in habitant of hard to reach area (S.T)

• need IEC in their language • 2. Custom stickiness in S.T especially in Phaharia

tribes . They are more dependent on taking treatment of their illness by taking local herbs

• - needs traning of pradhan and local school teachers • 3 Complete integration is needed in some district where

DLO office is being used an OPD & drug is distributed to cases.
