St. Patricks Day

Celebrated on 17th March, the date on which St. Patrick died.

A national holiday for the Irish people,...

..also celebrated in Canada, UK, Australia, USA, and New Zealand.

Celebrations are generally themed around all things green and Irish.

There is a famous phrase, "Everyone wants to be Irish on St. Patrick's Day."

Irish families traditionally wear green and attend church in the morning,...

...and celebrate in the afternoon.

Lenten prohibitions against the consumption of meat were waived on this day...

...and people would dance, drink,...

...and feast—on the traditional meal of Irish bacon and cabbage.

Nowadays, families attend the parade.

The Shamrock, Snake and Leprechaun is the symbol of St. Patrick's Day...
