Graduation Parade Procedures

St. Martin’s Graduation Parade Procedures

The following procedures have been developed in consultation with:

• Alberta Health Services (AHS)

• The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)

• The Calgary Catholic School District (CCSD)

St. Martin’s Graduation Parade Procedures

•Failure to comply with the following procedures may result in the decision to suspend the Graduation Parade.

•As per AHS requirements, RCMP will be present to ensure compliance with all AHS regulations.

St. Martin’s Graduation Parade

Please do not attend the Graduation Parade if you:

•Have a fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, or shortness of breath.

•Are a close contact of a person who tested positive for COVID-19.

The ArrivalPlease arrive 15 minutes prior to your assigned time.

Each graduate and his or her family may arrive in ONE vehicle.

Families with immediate family members NOT living in the same household must park off-sit. They can only observe from a safe distance and cannot enter the staging area.

As per AHS regulations, passengers in each vehicle must reside in the same household.

Additional Family Vehicle

• If there is a second vehicle, please park off-site and do not enter the student arrival area. Proceed by foot to the staff parking lot to take pictures and then immediately return to vehicle.

• Remember that this is for special cases of an immediate family member not living in the same household and is not intended for extended members wishing to be there for a photo opportunity.

Check In• Check in with the teacher standing at

the entrance to the student parking lot.

• This teacher will provide a number and when ready allow you to Queue in the bus lane.

• The graduate should be seated next to a door.

TELL YOU WHEN TO ENTER THE BUS LANE.

KEEP YOUR NUMBER VISIBLE

Enter Stage Area

When directed by staff, vehicles will enter the front parking lot and wait for their graduate’s turn to exit the vehicle and walk to the stage.

Stage and Grad Photos

• Please ensure that the graduate is seated next to a door.

• ONLY the graduate may exit the vehicle and follow the clearly marked path to the stage

• Please maintain physical distancing of 2 metres at all times. Graduates are encouraged to greet staff members verbally.

THE ADDITIONAL IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBER MAY TAKE A PICTURE FROM A SAFE DISTANCE.

PLEASE STAY CLEAR OF THE GRADUATE’S VEHICLE.ALL OCCUPANTS OF THE GRADUATE’S CAR MUST STAY IN THE VEHICLE

Certificate Presentation

• The graduate will proceed to the stage where they and Mrs. Saraceni will pose for a photo.

• A teacher wearing gloves will place his or her certificate and grad box on the table. The table will be sanitized after each graduate’s departure.

• Hand sanitizer will be available for graduates.

Exit to Photo Booth

• A Photo Booth will be located at the exit for students to pick up a complimentary copy of their photo.

• Following the certificate presentation the graduate will return to his or her vehicle and exit towards Yankee Valley Blvd.

AHS Regulations

• As per AHS regulations, public washrooms will not be made available during the Graduation. Please plan accordingly.

• Note: AHS has clearly stated that graduation ceremonies must remain “drive-thru” NOT “drive-in” events. Graduates are expected to leave the school area immediately after their presentation.
