The seminar was attended by around 50 delegates and the guest

speaker for the event was Mr. Rajit Pal Singh. Mr. Singh is

Managing Director of Reach Potential Consultants Pvt. Ltd. He is

also a renowned speaker at various national level institutes like

IIFT, DSE, FMS etc.

Mr. Rajesh Jain COA member of EPCH inaugurated the session

with welcome speech and offered memento to Professor Singh on

behalf of EPCH.

Mr. Arshad Mir another COA member offered memento to

Mariette Mularie.

Mr. Rajit Pal Singh described the role played by International

Trade Promotional Bodies. The international trade scenarios are

changing very fast. In today’s era of economic development and

competitiveness it is very difficult to enhance trade in isolation.

Furthermore, the world’s changing landscape will continue to

create challenges for sustainable trade. Emerging risks will also

force us to rethink how we can adapt and adjust our trade

activities. A big network of the businessman increases the

chances of their success in the international market. A network

helps you to grow in a faster pace. But, it is difficult for the

businessman to create such a huge network. Here comes the role

of the trade promotional organizations. The function of the

organization is to promote and foster trade, commerce and

industry of all descriptions. They also provide information about

buyers and sellers, for example, methods of doing business,

markets size etc. they also represent the members in a number of

foreign trade committees like International Trade Centre, World

Bank various Un bodies. They also tasked to promote trade

missions and exports through trade fairs, buyer seller meet and

other exhibition activities. These organizations also represent

their members in various governmental, bilateral and multilateral

bodies.

Although international trade is increasing, there is a risk that the

growing complexity of quality and regulatory requirements will

become insurmountable obstacles to exporters from developing

countries. This is especially so of the SME sector.

Ms. Mariette Mularie explained the exporters how they can take

the help of World Trade Centre, Winnipeg, Canada to expand

their business in Canadian market. She also shared that many of

Indian origin Canadian citizen are at various senior position in

Canadian government. Many are also in top policy making

positions. She said there has been a strong bilateral trade

relation between India and Canada for a long time.

Ms. Mariette Mularie also informed the present dignitaries about

the Centrallia 2016. Centrallia 2016 is an international event

that takes place in the centrally located city of Winnipeg, Canada.

Centrallia is an international business-to-business forum focused

on generating trade and business development opportunities. The

format is simple and effective: each company receives up to

fourteen 30-minute meetings with potential partners of choice.

The full program includes targeted one-on-one meetings, a

conference component, a trade show, and world-class networking

events.

She told the exporters how they can participate in this event and

promote their export business.

Questions put up by the participants –

Q: IS there any Indian Trade Promotion Organisation? Ans: Indian Trade Promotion Organisation

Q: Is India member of any international Trade Promotion Organisation?

Ans: Yes India is member of a number of trade promotion organisations like UNCTAD, ITC, CBI etc. Q: Do they charge anything from the exporters to help them? Ans: No, all the services provided by these institutions are free of cost. Q: IS there any subsidy given to participate in Centrallia? Ans: NO. No subsidy if given to the exporters to participate in Centrallia. The seminar was concluded after giving vote of thanks to all the participants and the honourable guest speakers of the seminar.

productive. Do write to us at: focusregion@epch.com.
