Sports in SwedenI will show you some sports that are famous in Sweden, perhaps some

are more famous than others

Floorball

This sport is popular especially in Sweden and other countries in the north,although it´s played in other parts of the world too.

Floorball: The Gents’ Trophies • Sweden is pretty succesfull in floorball, we won the World

Championship in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2012 and last year, 2014.• Maybe it´s beacuse we have a good team or it´s just that there are

not so many competitives.

Floorball: Ladies• The Swedish women’s team is incredible.• If you just look at their trophies, you would be shocked:• They won 4 World Championship in a row and they aim for the 5th.

Skiing • Sweden’s national skiing team is in top form.• We have elite sports men and women in all sorts of branches of skiing

• But unfortunately not all Swedes can ski because you need snow (which we don’t have in the southern parts of our country).

Famous skiers• Charlotte Kalla got 54 medals for cross-country skiing• Anja Person is a great down-hill skier.• And Tomas Wassberg who is an old legend together with Ingmar

Stenmark.

Ice-hockey • Sweden has great players, and a great national team.• We have 65 players in NHL and that´s pretty impressive (NHL is the

best hockey league)

Three famous players:• Peter Forsberg: some call him Sweden’s best player, some call him the

world’s best player

• ”The Sedins” (Sedinarna): they are twins and they play like gods together. They also play in the same team in the NHL, even in the same line up

(a hockey team usually has 4 line ups)

Football • In Sweden football is very popular• We have a lot of footballers in Sweden, the majority of all sporting

kids play football

Zlatan Ibrahimovic aka ”Ibracadabra”• His first famous club was Malmö FF (Sweden)• Then his international journey began:• Ajax• Juventus • Inter• Barcelona • Milan • And now he plays in ”Paris Saint German” aka PSG

• Zlatan, a proud part in every Swede’s heart• He is the greatest player in Sweden by far and a top 5 player in the

world• As he said himself: ”There will never be anyone like Zlatan”
