Captain Bert Dacey, United States Army

“Bert”While assigned to the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment,

Captain Bert Dacey died on April 26 , 1969 while piloting a helicopter in Tay Ninh, South Vietnam. He was 25 years old.

Bill enlisted in the Marine Corps right after graduation from St. Peter’s.

“Brian”The prime organizer of our successful 25th Anniversary Reunion in 1986, Brian passed away in 1989 on Staten Island. Brian was a Sergeant in the NYPD, so highly thought of that in the final stages of his battle with cancer, he received a letter of encouragement from New York City Mayor Edward Koch.

“Ed”Ed transferred into our class from St. Peter’s Prep in Jersey City for our

senior year. He later graduated from Boston College. He showed remarkable courage throughout his life in coping with blindness while

maintaining an upbeat approach to life. Tragically, Ed’s life ended in a fire in his residence in New York State.

We honor these fallen comrades and hope you remember them as we do; the good times, the laughs,

the learning, all the things that turned us from boys into men,

thanks to our mentors and teachers at St. Peter’s High

School.
