Director:
Innovative Educational
Technology Innovative educational technology
might represent a completely new
way of teaching, or it can reflect a better way to use
an existing teaching tool.
These three examples of innovative educational
technology range from the most advanced electronic
classrooms to the more modest technologies used in
the developing world. These innovations illustrate
how best practices in education technology can be
shared and how you can tap into these great ideas.
Computer-assisted instruction
Computer-assisted instruction will benefit greatly
from the Common Core initiative. This technology
has been around for some time, but it has been slow
to develop because, in the past, each school district
offered different instructional content at each grade
level. With Common Core, this technology is poised
for rapid adoption across the country.
Basically, computer-assisted instruction allows
teachers to spend more time with individual students
who are having difficulties. Meanwhile, other
students in the class can work through their lessons
at their own pace. This improves classroom
efficiency and allows for one-on-one attention in
larger classrooms. A study by Lisa Barrow et al.
showed a marked improvement in heterogeneous
classes with more than 15 students. As states are
forced to educate more students with tighter budgets,
computer-assisted instruction offers a promise of
higher test scores.
Websites and social media
Some teachers have used these technologies to
create a homework blog, a classroom website or
student blogs. Another innovative use of social
media and the Web is the creation of education-
related Pinterest boards. Each of these technologies
opens up the classroom a little and facilitates
communication between students, educators, parents
and the broader community.
This can be seen as the technological extension of
the traditional schoolhouse and its connections with
the community. In a way, these innovations are
bringing the world back to a time when your parents
knew what happened at school even before you
returned home. This is because the whole
community was, and increasingly still is, built
around the local school

From the Desk of the
Editor:
The Importance of
innovative learning- The technical education
programs are ever changing to
meet the country’s education and skill needs. These
programs are creating an educational environment
that combines core academics with real-world
application. Higher Education currently touches the
lives of millions of students studying in various
institutions nationwide. At its core, the mission is to
prepare students for success in college and careers by
helping them develop the skills, knowledge,
academic rigor, and real-world experience for high-
skill, high-demand, and highly successful careers. It has been repeatedly emphasized the importance of
access to higher quality education in the remotest
place. Government is committed to redesign the
educational framework and regulating them through
regulatory bodies with new vigor partnering with
colleges and employers that offer the real-world
education and hands-on training that will lead to
good jobs and careers.
We feel that not everyone needs a four-year degree
to be successful but rather they do need a
combination of post-secondary skill education and
industry-recognized credentials that lead to
sustaining jobs and careers. We believe that this
framework will significantly expand opportunities
for secondary and postsecondary students as well as
adults to successfully complete the most efficient
pathways to the post-secondary, industry-recognized
credentials they need for good jobs in high-demand
industries and occupations.
Currently education sector of India lacks sociability
due to shortage of quality faculty / skilled human
resource. Higher Education can provide great
opportunity to overcome such hurdle and reach out
to more number of students. We need to explore
optimal use of recent trends of learning to overcome
the faculty shortage. Some of them may be-
Digital Learning
Online learning and MOOCs (Massive Online Open
Courses)
Android App/ Windows App
Interactive Self-Assessment
we must understand that change is inevitable and we
need to come out to welcome these new technology
trends blended with traditional methods of teaching
for expanding learning opportunities.

Process Simulation
Workshop on “Advanced Manufacturing Process
Simulation” held on 5th -9th of May 2016” at
CAD/CAM lab, Department of Mechanical
Engineering, PESCE Mandya, by Dhio Research
and Engineering Pvt. Ltd.,. In this workshop
students were trained on simulation software’s like,
Z-cast (for casting) and AFDEX (for forging
process).
Casting simulation software (Z-cast) helps students
to understand about the material flow in casting,
shrinkage occurrence, variation of temperature, etc.,
and Forging simulation software (AFDEX) helps
students to learn about , how the deformation of
material takes place, where stress concentration is
more, etc., So it is more useful in pre-work process
