Welcome to our 18th century-style Spanish inspired tavern, in the heart of St. Augustine. In 1740, Two Spanish Cavalry Men lived where this restaurant currently stands. They stabled their horse where our kitchen is today. Taverns (“tabernas” in Spanish) were a common feature of St. Augustine with as many as forty tabernas during the mid 18th century. The Taberna del Caballo offers guests an inspired Spanish and Latin influenced dining experience that evokes the aura of old world St. Augustine.
