Lesson Eleven

Song of Solomon 4:16-5:1

A. The prayers are for both north winds and south winds to blow and stir up the fragrances of the spices of her garden.

I think it relates to a metaphor used more often in our day using

*mountains and

*valleys

The key is to benefit through them both:

*To grow in grace when the south winds blow; to grow in humility when the winds come from the north.

*To glorify God when things when the north winds bring in blessings upon blessings. To praise the Lord and give Him thanks when the south winds blow in trials and testings

B. The garden speaks of fruitfulness.

Galatians 5:22-23 KJV

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

*Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

C. She is praying for her beloved to comeTitus 2:13 KJV

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

2 Timothy 4:8 KJV

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

God always answers our prayers:

*Sometimes the answer us yes

*Sometimes the answer is no and

*Sometimes the answer is wait

The fourth potential answer is:

*Sometimes, the answer is to correct and change our thoughts, priorities and conclusions on the subject about which we pray.

Living by faith is:

*Praying through the north winds and south winds of life

*Growing in grace through them and glorifying God in them

*Watching for Jesus in the midst of them and

*Learning from Jesus as we pray through them
