Soft Pretzels:A Language Experience Project

Where are soft pretzels from?

• Soft Pretzels are from Germany.

• Germany is a country in Europe.

Definitions for making pretzels.

• ingredients- a list of foods needed to make the pretzels

• recipe- the directions and ingredients to make pretzels

• tablespoon, teaspoon, cup- units of measurement used when cooking

Soft Pretzel Recipe

• 2 cups flour• 3 tablespoons sugar• 2 tablespoons dry milk• 1 teaspoon salt• 4 tablespoons butter• 1 egg• ½ cup water• 1 ½ teaspoons yeast

Do we have all the ingredients?

• dry milk• flour• egg• sugar• salt• yeast• water• butter

First, we must wash our hands!!

Bakers… Let’s Begin!!

2 cups flour

2 cups

3 tablespoons sugar

2 tablespoons dry milk powder

1 teaspoon salt

4 tablespoons butter

1 egg

½ cup water

½ cup

1 ½ teaspoons yeast

Put the bucket in the bread machine and wait for two hours until it is finished.

After two hours, the dough is finished. Next, we need to roll and stretch the

dough.

It is time to make our dough into a shape.

Last, the dough goes into the oven at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.

Finally we can eat our pretzels!
