• Sociology is a branch of many social sciences. It uses methods of critical analysis and empiricism to develop and refine a body of knowledge about human social structure.

• The man at the right is Auguste Comte. He is known as the father of sociology he was one of the first to understand and explain the idea of sociology to other people.

What is it?

• Prepare publications and reports containing research finding. Analyze and interpret data in order to increase the understanding of human social behavior. Plan or conduct research to develop and test theories of human issues.

• Criminology: The social science approach to the study of crime as an individual and social phenomenon.

• Cultural Sociology: The ensemble of symbolic codes used by a society as it is manifested by the society.

• Sociology of Education: The study of how public institutions and individual experiences affect education and its outcomes.

• The sub-field that interests me is criminology.

• Criminology seems like a cool way to understand why someone would go inside a class and shoot random people and maybe some of them kids.
