Concept : The Halo Effect
I met this friend of mine at the age of 16 during one of my tuition class.
She seemed to be a very cheerful and nice girl as she was always smiling. I had
a very good impression on her as I thought she might be a very friendly girl as
what I’ve seen.
We started making friends to each other after a few conversations, there
we exchanged emails and phone numbers. We were still starting to know each
other and then one day something rather not good happened to me, so I looked
out for her. I told her about the problems I encountered in my recent life which
was about my choices of studies being restricted by my dad. I felt really
disappointed for not being able to do what I wanted. Then she went on to cheer
me up by giving my all sort of advices, she tried her best to send all the
information she gathered about the course I will be doing so that it could help to
boost up my confidence in taking that particular course.
After seeing all the nice acts she has done, I developed a rather even
better impression and thoughts about her. She becomes someone I can look up
to, whatever sources she gave me about studies become reliable and I trusted
her a lot. Slowly, I think I started implementing this Halo Effect all on her, Halo
effect which means one positive attribute that causes us to attribute other
positive qualities to an individual. It also bring out the importance of a good first
impression.
For all this while even till now, I still think that everything she does is at her
best. Even if it was just a picture of her taking care of her pet makes me feel that
she has a very kind soul and she must be a very lovely person to the people
around her.
