REMARKS The true identity of the man known in Terrigal in 1915 as Jock Brad-ley is not clear. At the time of enlistment he worked for a J. Smith, fisherman of Terrigal and Jock is reported to have joined under the name J. Smith. A circumstantial case exists for Sergeant James Smith SERN 2217, who died of pneumonia in Egypt on 29-Oct-1915 being the man in question. The reasons why this man from Terrigal enlisted under a false name may never be known.
