• This project will develop project plan, recruit project manager and project partners to research, analyze and publish the inaugural AfricaSIF.org Marketplace Trends Report 2012 looking at the sustainable investment market size and dynamics in 54 countries in Africa. For the first time, global SIFs are harmonizing the reporting, so AfricaSIF.org will contribute the Africa coverage into the global SIFs Trends Report in Dec 2012.
• The report is a collaborative project to be released publicly. AfricaSIF.org is transparent and inclusive. All project partners will work for the best interest of the report and the project to make it happen.

Frost & Sullivan successfully delivered the commercial feasibility study of 10 short listed industries; including market potential and competition, capital expenditure, operational expenditure, employment potential, investor interest, funding models and strategic alignment with public sector initiatives
• Frost & Sullivan Project Manager and Lead Analyst on Phase III of the Saldanha Bay IDZ feasibility study (2012). Building upon the 2011 study, Frost & Sullivan successfully conducted a detailed commercial feasibility study of an IDZ at Saldanha Bay that services the needs of the offshore O&G industry in Sub Saharan Africa; including a.o. marine repair activities, a supply base and fabrication. In addition, Frost & Sullivan compiled a strategic marketing plan for said IDZ, which included a dynamic model based on systems thinking principles, co-developed by public sector stakeholders.

Project team: Jon Duncan, OMIGSAJon joined OMIGSA on 1 February 2011 and is responsible for supporting the integration of environment, social and governance (ESG) factors across OMIGSA’s investment capabilities. This work includes:• Developing and maintaining and ESG risk/ opportunity screen across

finance, external auditing and property management has included financial administration; management accounting; work experience at Pricewaterhouse Coopers - international accounting firm, a large commercial property portfolio manager, a large JSE listed empowerment organization and as part of large non-bank financial intermediary.
• A Chartered Accountant (SA) by profession, Mark started his career as an assistant systems accountant at Gensec Property Services in Johannesburg following three years of tertiary education at the University of Cape Town. Mark passed all his CA (SA) qualifying exams upon first attempt. Mark is currently registered for CFA 3, which he expects to complete in 2013.
• In 2002 Mark elected to move back to Cape Town from Johannesburg to pursue his ambition of qualifying as a CA(SA) and completed his articles at PWC where he specialised in Financial Services. In 2004 Mark was seconded to PWC-New York. Prior to joining Mergence Investment Manager in 2011, Mark was a Manager at Mettle responsible for sourcing, arranging and the implementation of Debt and Equity transactions with a main focus on securitizations, preference share placements and corporate debt structuring. Jako joined the AfricaSIF>org project team in 2012 to support academic interaction in Africa, and increase the knowledgebase research workload.• Jako Volschenk is a Lecturer in Environmental Finance and Environmental
Sustainability at the University of Stellenbosch Business School (USB) as well as on other Masters programs in South Africa and France, for example, Grenoble Ecole de Management.
• He consults in the areas of energy, carbon trading and environmental sustainability. Jako has furthermore published in the areas of energy and sustainability, as well as microfinance, He has supervised numerous Masters students in the areas of energy, climate change and microfinance.
