LEGACY By leveraging several decades of aeronautical experience, SKT’s
team has refined light helicopter technology to unmatched levels of simplicity, safety and performance.
State of the art technologies, harmoniously combined in a novel architecture bring a breakthrough in light helicopter operation and cheaper operating cost.
The SKT organization is headquartered in Stabio - Switzerland, while the test flights of each helicopter take place a short distance away at Ambri - Airport and in Lomazzo, near Lake Como - Italy.
Experienced test pilots with thousands of hours of flying, perform accurate tests on the helicopters, prior to delivery to Customers.

100 % SWISS MADE
The production facility is located in Stabio - Switzerland. Highly specialized technicians assemble the helicopters with parts manufactured by companies, which are all part of the SKT Helicopter group. Everything except the engines are produced in house at SKT. Final Assembly is processed under thorough supervision and controlled system.
ITALIAN POWER
The MW engine incorporates the latest in modern aviation technology and is produced based on the electronic management functions and specific performance needs of the SKT helicopter. Hours of test led to a very positive result on safety in flight.

State of the Art Technologies
A group of experts in the field of helicopter aviation engineered a new light helicopter different from some of the famed but now out-dated
Pilots brought their own precise ideas how the new helicopter should perform: simple and fluid in flying, solid and durable, with advanced air penetration, but not only a 'race car'. They wanted a helicopter perfect for recreation, but with possible applications in reconnaissance, fire control, instruction, rescue, aerial photography and observation
The technicians brought forth: the rotor drive belts, improved collective and cyclic movements and their respective controls. Engineers desired a fast, powerful aircraft, but with low power/fuel consumption while using high octane automotive gas, reducing the need for avgas

State of the Art Technologies, cont.
For better flying conditions, the rotor system incorporates a three blade system with specific characteristics. The person responsible for this delicate area, was a technician/engineer and at the same time, a true artist who has shaped and made the blades. He has achieved the best results by giving a ”hook in the sky” blade that makes this helicopter unique.
The design engineers created a new shape that could be only be made composing specific techniques using of composites, carbon fiber and to simulate their behavior in the wind tunnels.
All of these factors have created a magical alchemy, using the latest 3D technologies and machinery. The result is this world class helicopter that has now been flying since early 2013 and is called the SKT SKYRIDER.

Technical description Airframe
The SKYRIDER is a two-seat, single engine, single main rotor helicopter. Constructed primarily of metal and carbon, equipped with skid type landing gear
The primary structure of the fuselage is composed in carbon and the airframe in tubular pressurized steel. Above the pilot’s pedal bar is a barometric pressure indicator installed that indicates the pressure of the airframe tubing. Any drop in pressure would lead to a leakage in the airframe tubing due to possible fracture or cracks.
A cowl door on the right side provides access to the main rotor gearbox, drive system, engine and oil
The battery is place between (underneath) instrument panel

Technical description Rotor System
The main rotor has three composite
symmetrical blades mounted to the
hub by fully articulated hinges
covered by carbon coverage
Droop stops for the main rotor
blades provide a teeter hinge
friction restraint which normally
prevents the rotor from teetering
while stopping or starting
Tail rotor has two composite blade
MAIN ROTOR MAST AND SWASHPLATE

Technical description Drive System
A gears group is bolted directly to the engine output shaft.
These gears transmit power to the gearbox of main and tail
rotor. The main gearbox contains a single-stage spiral-bevel
gear set which is splash lubricated. The gears function as
freewheel when engine shutdown during flight
The long tail rotor drive shaft has one hanger bearing and
the Tail cone is a monolithic carbon tube
The tail gearbox contains a splash-lubricated spiral-bevel
gear set

Technical description Power Plant
MW aero power B25R four cylinders, horizontally opposed, water cooled, ignition valve with a wet sump oil system powers the helicopter. Engine has two alternator, first mounted between transmission gear and gearbox, second installed directly onto the engine.
Aero Power engines are an extraordinary expression of Italian style and technology. The engines are impressive, not only for the high technology content but also for beauty, for the accuracy of the details and for sleek design, result of a complete project.

Technical description Cooling System
Two cooling fans are mounted over the airframe for cooling
the radiator, behind this there is an electrical pump for water
supply
ENGINE DRIVEN FAN FOR WATER COOLING

Technical description Flight Controls
Dual controls are standard equipment and all primary control are actuated through cables. Dual cyclic and collective are removable, whereas pedals remain fixed
The collective stick is conventional with a twist grip throttle control
Flight controls have no friction with the exception of collective, which includes a magnetic break that allows moving the lever only by clicking the button disposed under the collective. When the pilot releases the button, the collective maintain in the last position.

Technical description Governor
The governor maintains engine RPM by sensing changes and applying corrective throttle inputs which may be easily overridden by the pilot
The governor is designed to assist in controlling RPM under normal condition. I will not prevent over or under-speed conditions generated by aggressive flight manoeuvres.
When operating at high density altitudes, governor response rate may be too slow to prevent over speed during gusts, pull-ups, or when lowering collective

Technical description Fuel System
The fuel system is configured with two electrical pumps connected to the main fuel tank. The dual pump configuration was designed for safety purposed in case of pump failure.
The fuel gages are electrically operated by float-type transmitters in the tank. When the gages read E, the tanks are empty

Technical description Electrical System
A 12 volt electrical system consists of two alternator, voltage controller, battery relay a capacitor and two batteries
First alternator (engine alternator) and load battery 1 dispense electrical requirement to engine, EFIS and light
Second alternator (located between main gearbox and transmission gear) dispense electrical requirement to fuel pumps, water pumps, pre-starter and radiator fan
If alternator discharges, terminate flight as soon as practical.

Technical description Lighting System
An anti-collision strobe light is installed on the radiator fan. Night lights include navigation lights on each side of the cabin and on the tail. Twin landing lights are installed in the nose at different vertical angles to increase the pilot’s field of vision.
Technical description Static System
The Pitot-static system supplies air pressure to operate the airspeed indicator, altimeter and vertical speed indicator. The Pitot tube is located on the front edge of the helicopter. The static source is located in the control panel.

Pilot License requirements
Theoretical training including aerodynamics, navigability, radio and communication, human factors form the minimum requirement for student pilots prior commencing practical flying training.
Medical examination, fit to fly
Skill Test
Minimum age
What are the requirement/regulations to fly a light helicopter Every Country introduce the Helicopters in National Category (FAR23 / FAR27 / Restricted / Experimental / ULM)
An applicant for a pilot licence, shall demonstrate a level of knowledge appropriate to the privileges of the licence by passing theoretical knowledge examinations in accordance with the requirements set out in National Licences Office
The student pilot should read and understand the content of the POH in all parts and to get familiarized with essential limitations, performance data, procedures, checks, etc prior getting on board for flight.
SKT provide basic practical training (type rating) for SKT 06 helicopters
