Caring for the Earth~ Climate Change Group
Rochester People's Climate Coalition (RPCC) reported that in 2016 our Earth hit its highest recorded
temperature for the third year in a row!
One action that can be taken to help our Earth at the state and local level is the Community Choice Aggregation.
This allows business owners and residents to come together to negotiate better rates for cleaner energy.
This has already been put into action in Westchester County. 17 municipalities joined together to buy clean energy through Westchester Power.
Energy costs actually went down!
According to Mary Lupien, Rochester already has an existing optics infrastructure which is a necessary part in alternative energy production!
Information taken from the Democrat and Chronicle, Erica Bryant (1/20/17) and Choosing Clean Energy (2/04/17).
Visit RPCC website for additional information and to see how you can help make this happen.

FROM THE PASTOR
Dear Parishioners,
We extend thanks to the women of the Funeral Band at Saint Dominic who have been busy providing post-funeral lunches in recent weeks.
This service is also available at Saint Francis. Families of our parish are welcome to these services when we have available space in our parish halls.
Thanks also to the families who put our parish in obituaries for Memorial Gifts. This has resulted in $650 in gifts to our Memorial Fund just since January 1st.
There will be no Mass this Wednesday evening as Queen of Peace Apostolate could not find a celebrant.
I will be attending a conference by NOCERCC at San Antonio after a week in Orlando. Our celebrants for next weekend will be Father George Heyman at the 4PM Mass and Father Daniel Condon on Sunday morning.
I will celebrate the following Masses while away:
Alfred Liberati by JoAnne and Bill Henry Mildred Bolonda by Dan and Teri Gersbach
Pauline Mitzewich by Ben and Shirley D’Arduini Margaret Vienna by Jim and Rita Vitalone
plus seven All Souls Masses by various donors.
Sanctuary Lamp envelopes are still available at St. Francis Church to honor a loved one. You are welcome to put them in the collection basket or send them to the Parish Office.
If you have taken a Sponsorship envelope for a Sanctuary Lamp or Adoration Candle, please return it to the parish office or the collection as soon as possible.
Tickets to Clifton Springs Rotary Club Spaghetti Dinner are available at the Parish Office until Noon next Tuesday. See Information in the box below.
Sincerely, Father Gagnier
