INTRODUCTION

• Lourdes Hospital is a Multispecialty Hospital.

• With 650 beds and 120 ICUS

• It is started in 1965

• Archbishop Joseph Attipetty laid the foundation stone on 15th August 1962.

• On October 1964 the archbishop handed over the management and administration of the hospital to the congregation of sisters of charity.

• The hospital is celebrating 50 years of love in services

• The hospital have NABH accreditation.

WEAKNESSES

Long waiting hours:-

Patients have to wait for long time for settlement of their bills.

 Lack of technological up gradation of certain departments.

  Location of the hospital :public transport system and the narrow roads creates problems

OPPORTUNITY

• Potential for establishing sound and strong relationship & form of collaboration with foreign hospitals.

• Scope for upgrading the hospital to international standards.

•Opportunity for introducing updated technology.

•Development of indigenous technology, mobile clinic, medical village.

•Online marketing helps them to catch more patients to the hospital.

 

THREATS

•Competition from the multispecialty hospitals.

•High salaries for the nurses in other countries.

•Competitor with less consultation fees for treatment and diagnosis

FINDINGS

Good reputation in the hospital industry.

Highly qualified and skilled employees.

Good critical care service

The number of employees is high.

Employees have high stress at their work.

The hospital have NABH accreditation.

The hospital has a strong commitment towards the patients and society.

Proper auditing is carried out in the hospital every year to ensure financial transparency.

The hospital is an eco-friendly organization which takes systematic measures for the disposal of waste materials.

They are providing periodical training for the employees.

Good employer-employee relationship in the hospital.

Induction training program are organized regularly.

 

 

SUGGESTIONS

more medical camps and awareness program should be conducted to increase the health awareness of the public.

shift timings should be rescheduled as per the convenience of the staffs.

the company website should be updated continuously.

steps may be taken to centralize the billing section.

expensive medicines should be stocked in the pharmacy and it should be sold at reasonable price to the patients who deserve it.

 CONCLUSION

• A hospital, in the modern sense, is an institution for health

care providing patient treatment by specialized staff and equipment, and often,

but not always providing for longer-term patient stays. its historical meaning,

until relatively recent times, was "a place of hospitality"

• In Lourdes Hospital, the role and responsibility of clinical supportive services

are defined. it leads to effective management and administration of the

hospital. different departments of the hospital are functioning with effective

coordination and providing quality service. the hospital is well equipped with

new diagnostic and therapeutic equipment.

• The hospital is accredited by NABH. The vision of the hospital makes it stand out from its competitors. the study came to the conclusion that the management system prevailing in the hospital is efficient for attaining the goal of the hospital.
