Now that we’ve completed our short story unit, it’s time to show what you’ve learned about literary elements and devices! Your assignment is to complete a literary analysis of Shrek, which will include the following components:

• A full and detailed plot diagram • A character study of any three characters (one page each)—what is the character’s role?

What type of character is he (static, dynamic, etc.)? • A study in setting • Discuss examples of irony (verbal, situational, and dramatic) • Discuss examples of foreshadowing • Theme analysis

Each of these components should be at least a page of analysis, typed and in MLA format. This assignment is due on Tuesday, October 16th Let Mr. Clark know if you have any questions!
