Camels have big eyelashes to keep all the sand out.

When Camels drink they store the water in their humps so when

they are thirsty they drink the water stored in their humps.

That’s how they don’t need food or water for many days.

The barking gecko got its name because they bark when they sense danger.

When a predator comes a barking gecko loses its tail so the predator thinks its dead.

The Coyotes (dingoes) howl when they sense danger.

The sidewinder has camouflage with the sand.

The sidewinder snake moves at up to 4 kilometers per hour over the shifting sand of its desert home.

The fennec has big ears to hear far away.

When there hot they take all the heat out and it comes out through their ears.

Komodo dragons have poisonous spit so predators run away. Komodo dragons are dangerous because they kill loads of people.

Did you know komodo dragons can run up to 4 kilometers per hour?

The Gila monsters is the second dangerous lizard in the world and are mostly found in the death canyon.

Woodpeckers has a sharp, pointed beak for digging its food up.

Roadrunners run so fast that the predators can’t catch up.

Porcupines have a spiny back that if a predator comes it can’t eat it.

A desert tortoise has a shell so if a predator comes the tortoise goes inside and the predator would think it’s a rock.

The Moloch lizard a spiny body so if a predator comes it can’t eat it

Scorpions have sharp snipers to kill their prey.

It has a hard back so if a person hits it with a hammer it wont die.

It cannot die in hot or cold temperature.

Elf owls have night vision eyes so they can catch their prey for supper.

They have a pointy beak to pick up its food from the ground.

The Chuckwalla has good strength to climb up high things.

The pumas have long legs to jump high.

The harvester ants are very small so that predators don’t see them.

The blue tongue lizard has a blue tongue so when a predator comes it shoots out its tongue and the predator is scared of it and runs away.

The shingle back lizard Looks like it has two heads so by the time the predator has found out what side the heads on the shingle back lizard it has made its getaway.

The spade foot toad has a long, sticky tongue to catch its food from a very far distance.
