• SEH Europe Ltd was registered in Scotland in 1984 and is a wholly
owned subsidiary of Shin-Etsu Handotai Co Ltd Japan.
• SEH Europe is the third overseas plant within the SEH group which
now comprises eight manufacturing plants in Japan as well as SEH
Malaysia, SEH America and SEH Taiwan

What is Healthy Working Lives?
• Programme was initiated by NHS Scotland to improve the health and wellbeing of Scotland's Workers.
• Involves developing health promotion and safety themes in the workplace in a practical, logical way, that's beneficial to all.
• Core topics for HWL are: - Health Promotion, Occupational Health & Safety, Employability, Community, Health and the Environment and Mental Health and Wellbeing
• Must meet specific key evidence based criteria for each award of Bronze, Silver and Gold with ongoing accreditation
• A number of large companies have gained the HWL gold award

• 2 HWL members attended Mental Health Awareness Training to assist in creating a Mental Health and Wellbeing Policy.
• Achieved healthy living award in 2009.
• Gained Silver Award in 2010.

• 66 Employees went on a Drug & Alcohol awareness course onsite.
• Course was delivered by (WLDAS) West Lothian Drug & Alcohol Service
• WLDAS is a 3rd sector organisation that was set up in 1985 to provide high quality, evidence based, accessible services aimed at reducing the harm caused by drugs, alcohol and tobacco to West Lothian residents and communities.

• The conditions of the award are based on the principles of a healthy balanced diet.
• Levels of salt, sugars, fats and oils, particularly saturated fat, must be kept to a minimum.
• Fruit and vegetables must be clearly available.
• At least 50 percent of the food on the menu must meet the specific healthy living criteria, prepared using both healthier ingredients and cooking methods
• Have a promotion and marketing strategy which supports healthier eating.

• Bike to Work Scheme: - Tax free bike paid in 18 monthly
instalments
• 83 people on our bike to work scheme around 20% of our workforce
• Bike repair workshop onsite with appropriate tools provided
