Dear PA Env. Quality Board,

Dear Members of the Environmental Quality Board,My family, community, and I deserve to live in a state where we can breathe clean air. Please help make Pennsylvania a safe and healthy place to live by supporting theDepartment of Environmental Protection's proposed changes to the Pennsylvania CleanVehicle Program.

In 2003, Pennsylvania was ranked 11th in the nation for the worst smog pollution from carsand trucks while 37 PA counties, including all of southeastern Pennsylvania, failed tomeet federal air quality standards. 'Smog' pollution from cars and trucks triggers anestimated 370,000 asthma attacks annually. This puts our families at risk.

I urge the Environmental Quality Board to support the DEP's proposed changes to the PAClean Vehicle Program.

Sincerely,

Steven Bielinski706 Foster StScranton, PA 18508-2309

Sincerely,

Maria Evers298 Yates StPittston, PA 18640-3390

Dear EQB:

I am writing to voice my full support for the Pennsylvania Clean Vehicles Program, and tourge that it be implemented as quickly as possible.

Cars and trucks are a significant source of air pollution, contributing approximately onethird of the region's smog-forming emissions. The Pennsylvania Clean Vehicles Programwould reduce pollution from vehicles more quickly and thoroughly than weaker federalstandards. These pollution reductions are crucial for improving air quality and-protecting public health in the state.

Thirty-seven counties across Pennsylvania still do not meet the federal government's basicair quality standards. The Scranton metro area has recently been ranked the nation'sworst for people living with asthma, and other major cities in the state have also beenrated very poorly by asthma experts. To put the matter simply: Pennsylvanians havealready waited too long for clean, healthful air.

The state should have implemented the Clean Vehicles Program already. I urge theDepartment of Environmental Protection to move forward getting the program up-and-runningas soon as it can.

Dear EQB:

I am writing to voice my full support for the Pennsylvania Clean Vehicles Program, and tourge that it be implemented as quickly as possible.

Cars and trucks are a significant source of air pollution, contributing approximately onethird of the region’s smog-forming emissions. The Pennsylvania Clean VehiclesProgram would reduce pollution from vehicles more quickly and thoroughly than weakerfederal standards. These pollution reductions are crucial for improving air quality andprotecting public health in the state.

Thirty-seven counties across Pennsylvania still do not meet the federal government’sbasic air quality standards. The Scranton metro area has recently been ranked thenation’s worst for people living with asthma, and other major cities in the statehave also been rated very poorly by asthma experts. To put the matter simply:Pennsylvanians have already waited too long for clean, healthful air.

The state should have implemented the Clean Vehicles Program already. I urge theDepartment of Environmental Protection to move forward getting the program up-and-runningas soon as it can.

Sincerely,
