AmazonIsMakingBigChangesatWholeFoodsMarketandCreatingWavesinGroceryOnAugust28—thedayAmazonclosedits$13.7billionacquisitionofWholeFoodsMarket—subtlechangeswerealreadyevidentinWholeFoodsstores,whererecentlyinstalleddisplaypyramidsofferedAmazon’sEchoandDotintelligentconnecteddevices.Ontheclosingdate,WholeFoodscutpricesupto40%onmanystaples,suchasbananas,eggsandgroundbeef.
