107. The buffet will open at 11:45 A.M. and will be catered by Jo-Jo's Bar-B-Q. Our program will be presented by Melissa Tho-

The Sherwood Chamber Board of Directors has voted to partner with the Arkansas Business and Educa on Alli‐
ance to par cipate in the Arkansas Scholars Program beginning soon. The Scholars Program is presented during
the spring semester to eighth graders to encourage the students to take the rigorous courses during their high
school years. The program gives students good reasons to do well in high school. Students are asked to meet a
set of criteria that will prepare them for both the workplace and addi onal educa on a er high school, and local
businesses are asked to request high school transcripts as part of their employment process.
The Chamber's famed Pancake Breakfast Cooks will be back in
ac on again this year. Make plans to start your Sherwood Fest
day early and enjoy a great pancake and sausage breakfast, from
8:30‐10:00 A.M. at Sherwood Forest on September 22. Tickets
are $6 for adults, $3 for children aged 6‐10, and FREE for chil‐
dren 5 and under. Bring your family and support your Chamber!

Maradyth McKenzie, Training Coordinator at the Arkansas Small Business and Technology
Development Center, presented "Marke ng Techniques for Small Business" for Sherwood
Chamber members at the Best Western Plus in Sherwood. Over 20 members a ended
the seminar and learned some valuable informa on for businesses with a low marke ng
budget. We'd love to know the business topic on which you'd like more informa on so we can plan our next seminar!
