Get students interested and working in a network security environment

Foster a sense of competition Develop expertise in network security Take advantage of faculty expertise in

cybersecurity Establish a sandbox for cybersecurity

Contest Overview

Set of teams competing against each other for control of target server

A team is several students and a team leader 24 hour competition each week Two part process:

Attack – Take control of server to score Defend – Protect server from other teams

Competition Server User Simulators

May be used to monitor Training of team leaders

The Contest: Rules

1. User services always accessible and properly functioning

2. Attacking cannot interfere with usage

3. No third-party applications

4. Scoring only takes place during allotted time period
