Looking from the exterior perspective, GaleriSejarah KKB, indeed portrays the ordinaryimage of how a traditional Malay houseshould. The application of the proportionaldivision is done properly covering from theapex of the roof to the footing stump (brickpedestals) on the ground.

In terms of the infill walls, the timber panels are assembled horizontally. According totraditional Malay construction, the use of horizontal wall panels indicates that theowner of the house is of average-income with the rational that timber panels which arearranged in horizontal manner are much cheaper and require shorter pieces of planks, rather than to vertical organization which depends on longer pieces of timber panels. This theory is somewhat relevant if we consider the fact that house was preliminarybuilt for secondary-class workers for the government (Rahim Mohamad, 2014).

6 Class X Quarters along Jalan Syed Mahsor was built duringBritish colonial in 1932 as part of the town planning at that time.It is called 6 Class X Quarters because they consist of 6 units in onebuilding and each building can accommodate 6 families. Thequarters were for low post government servants (Grade One) suchas office boys or gardeners.

The size of a unit for a family was very small as it consisted onlyone room for the whole family. The material used was timbercompared to the others which used masonry. In this case, we cansee this is only for the low post government servants.
