Introduction PTEC
History: Electrical and Electronic Products Testing Center (PTEC) was founded in 1994, under the co-operation of National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) and also King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Lardkrabang (KMITL).
• Objective PTEC objective will be, establishing the professional testing laboratory to service all local manufacturing, especially all exporter to upgrade their product to meet the international market and also enhance their competitiveness in global market.
Introduction PTEC
PTEC objective will be, establishing the professional testing laboratory to
service all local manufacturing, especially all exporter to upgrade their

Outline
• Organization introductions
• PV-module testing meet to local and
international standards
• PV-system characteristic verification
PV-system characteristic
verification
• Photovoltaic systems
– Measuring efficiency of power conditioners –
(IEC 61683)
– Performance monitoring - measurement, data
exchange and analysis (IEC 61724)
– PV array - On-site measurement of I-V
characteristics (IEC 61829)
– commissioning tests and inspection for Grid
connected photovoltaic systems (IEC 62446)
PV-system characteristic
verification
• Measurement of PV array I-V characteristic under actual on-site condition can provide • Data on power rating
• Verification of installed array power performance relative to design specifications;
• Detection of possible differences between on-site laboratory or factory measurements
• Detection of possible performance degradation of modules and arrays with respect to on-site initial data.
PV-system characteristic
verification
• Performance monitoring measurement, data exchange and analysis – monitoring of energy-
related photovoltaic (PV) system characteristics,
– For the exchange and analysis of monitored data.
– The purpose is the assessment of the overall performance of PV systems.
PV-system characteristic
verification
• Commissioning tests and inspection for Grid connected photovoltaic systems (IEC 62446)
– Defines the minimal information and documentation required to be handed over to a customer following
– The installation of a grid connected PV system. Also describes the minimum commissioning tests,
– Inspection criteria and documentation expected to verify the safe installation and correct operation of the system.
PV-system characteristic
verification
Future work of PTEC
(PV-inverter testing lab)
• PV systems - Characteristics of the utility interface
– IEC 61727: Photovoltaic (PV) systems - Characteristics of the utility interface
– IEC 62116: Test procedure of islanding prevention measures for utility-interconnected photovoltaic inverters
– IEC 62093: Balance-of-system components for photovoltaic systems - Design qualification natural environments
