Self-Esteem

Createan Achievement Log

Build confidence by creating goals, a path to achieving them and the knock off each task to success. Watch your self-esteem blossom as you check off

each task as “Done!”

Self-Confidence is About Balance

People with low self-confidence avoid taking

risks and new experiences. So their internal

scale is heavy on one side. Over-confidence

leads to high-risk decisions which can lead to

bad endings. Or you may not try hard

enough to succeed.

Celebrate SuccessDon’t wait for someone else to acknowledge your success. Share the

experience, high-five the boss, do a little dance. You deserve the spotlight so let it shine.

Self-Defeating Assumptions

You think you can’t, so you don’t. It’s

one thing to be realistic about a situation,

but it’s another to assume defeat before

entering the game. Assess the situation

and target a challenging situation to be

your first success.

Don’t spend time defending yourself if no

one is attacking you. You need to accept

constructive criticism and corrections,

but don’t take it persona. Instead, take

pride in where you’ve come from and

lead with your strengths.

Improve YourselfWhen you feel good in your clothes, you stand taller and carry

yourself with confidence. Physical fitness has a huge effect

on self confidence. If you’re out of shape, you’ll feel self-

conscious about how your clothing fits which leads to

insecurity and feeling unattractive.

Pick Your Favorite Physical AttributeLook in the mirror and select 5 things that you feel good

about. Great nails, shiny hair, beautiful hands? Do this every

day for a week. Watch new personal highlights

begin to appear.

Commit to Change

Specific goals are essential. Once you make

the commitment, you give the goal priority,

schedule time to make it happen, and look

forward to achieving the goal.

Be careful what you say. Children are very

sensitive to what adults say and especially what

parents say. Remember to praise your child not

only for a job well done, but also for effort.

Recognize that the act of “doing”is more

important than the outcome.
