BrEaking New Ground IN the SciencE Education Realm
Adding the missing “E” to STeM education
• Introducing Engineering to primary schools and science museums in 10 different countries
• Developing ten engineering challenges in ten different engineering fields, all connected to the science curriculum
• Using the five step engineering design process to teach and learn problem solving (based on the successful Engineering is Elementary (EiE model of the Museum of Science Boston)
BrEaking New Ground IN the SciencE Education Realm
Adding the missing “E” to STeM education
• Support teachers with teachers’ guides and training • Based on available and non expensive materials• Share for free - all available to download in ten
languages from ENGINEER website and Scientix

Builds Bridges
• A unique cooperation of formal & non-formal - 10 science museums and 10 schools working together.
• Co-Design of researchers, developers and practitioners.• Make science lessons relevant to the children's lives, boys
and girls.
• Give skills and knowledge - Critical thinking and problem solving; Creativity and Innovation; Communication and Collaboration;
• To have wide and deep impact we must work in collaboration with the Ministry of Education

The 10 Units
The Museum Units
• Each museum developed a 45-60 minutes Engineering workshop (each in its engineering field) to be operated at the museum. All units were based on the school ENGINEER unit developed.
• Developing the bio-medical ENGINEER workshop as an Engineer Design Process.

The Museum Units• The result…
We have 2 good different engineering workshops for families and classes that
visit in the museum that can also be operated simply in other museums.
