SAS Foundation and Enterprise Guide for WINDOWS

PART 1: Create a SAS software Depot on your local

hard disk

The SAS Software Depot is a repository of your SAS software on your hard disk, containing

everything that is necessary to install SAS.

Attention: creating the software depot can take up to 90 minutes. 8 Gb will be copied to your local hard disk!

1.1 After inserting the SAS DVD Software Disk 1, autorun will start the installation (see Figure 1).

PART 2: Install SAS from the software depot

This is the actual Windows installation of the SAS software! Double-click setup.exe in

c:\SAS Software Depot.

You will be offered the opportunity to select what components to install. A normal student installation contains:

o SAS Foundation o SAS Enterprise Guide o SAS onlineDoc for Windows.

Attention: depending on the number of components selected this part of the installation will take from 20 to 35 minutes.
