State Veterans Affairs Office In Long Beach
A district office of the State Department of Veterans Affal will be opened In Long Beach Dec. 2 to provide more con venient service for California veterans In Orange county and southern Los Angeles county In connection with state farm arid home purchases and educa tional assistance, Director Lawr ence C. Stevens announced to day.
The office, to be located in Rooms £01 and 202, Heartwell building, 19 Pine ave., telephone 7-5493 or 7-5343, will be in charge of Jere G. Hille as district man ager. Mr. Hille has been with he Department and its forerun

FIRE DAMAGES HOME;Lomita firemen last Thursday
morning, attributed an overheat ed bathroom water heater as the cause of a fire at 25908 Narbonnc ave. Firemen arriving at the scene of the fire, re ported the wails and floor of the bathroom in flames. Mrs. Julia Kusczkowskl, occupant of the home, estimated the damage to be $500.
